Innovation Born from Demand: Next Evolution of QuickBin on a Project-Driven Journey
Since 2017, Quicktron has been dedicated to developing bin robots to address the rising complexity of warehousing and logistics demands. Through years of practical exploration across various projects, Quicktron has continuously refined its core solution, QuickBin, now widely adopted globally. QuickBin has evolved through real-world customer projects, from multiple iterations of bin-moving robots to the recent M5 model upgrade. By providing customized solutions tailored to different enterprises, Quicktron has significantly enhanced warehouse operational efficiency.
QuickBin’s Beginnings and Initial Deployments
QuickBin first launched in 2021, when Quicktron deployed the solution for customers such as Winit, Maersk, and HOPPECKE. The original QuickBin system featured the C41 bin robot as the primary picking tool, whose adaptability and stability were instrumental in supporting these projects. However, as client demands for storage density and efficiency grew, Quicktron recognized the need to further optimize system performance. That same year, the C41 bin-picking robot was also deployed in Phase 1 of a project for Cubyn in France, with a successful deployment of 70 units. Yet, operational limitations in maximizing warehouse height utilization prompted Quicktron to explore new upgrade options
Upgrading QuickBin’s Bin-picking Robots: From C41 to C56
To overcome storage height constraints, Quicktron introduced the new C56 bin-picking robot in 2022. The C56 model, equipped with a double-mast design, can now store bins up to 8.3 meters high (and currently supports up to 12 meters), significantly enhancing floor and vehicle efficiency. This upgrade was implemented across multiple projects, including Phase 2 of Cubyn’s French facility, which utilized the C56 and saw a marked improvement in storage efficiency with over 300 QuickBin robots deployed. Similarly, projects such as MGL and Radial adopted the C56 upgrade, reporting a threefold increase in warehouse efficiency following its introduction.
Further Upgrades to Bin Robots: From Gripper to Suction Version
Earlier versions of the QuickBin system primarily used gripper-version picking robots, which proved limiting for dense storage applications. To address this, Quicktron developed the suction-version picking robot, allowing dual-depth storage with zero clearance front-to-back and only 2 cm clearance side-to-side. For example, in the Eqseek project, deploying the suction-style bin robots quadrupled the warehouse’s storage efficiency, significantly reducing order processing time. Projects like SLC also benefited from the upgraded suction-version picking robots, enabling them to handle complex warehousing scenarios more efficiently.
Advancing the Moving Robots: From M5B to M5F
In addition to bin robots, Quicktron’s M5 moving robots are essential components of the QuickBin system, taking on horizontal transport and docking tasks with high acclaim across numerous projects. The initial M5B model has been widely used in Quciktron projects domestically and internationally. The M5F model inherits the strengths of the M5B while featuring substantial enhancements in operational efficiency, path planning, and adaptability to complex scenarios. Customized solutions based on M5F have already been incorporated into multiple customer projects, with plans for large-scale implementation in the future. Quicktron anticipates that the M5F’s broad application will further boost customer ROI while significantly reducing warehousing costs.
Introducing the M5F at CeMAT Asia 2024
