4PX's pivotal challenge revolved around boosting the efficiency of processing sizable single-item orders. With a focus on streamlining order fulfillment and minimizing operational costs, the objective was to reinvent their picking process and solve the storage utilization problems 4PX sought an innovative solution that could revolutionize operations, optimize efficiency, and deliver swift and cost-effective outcomes.
Solution and Benefits
Quicktron employed a shelf-based Goods-to-Person (GTP) system with 82 M-Series Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), sparking a paradigm shift at 4PX. This innovation streamlined operations, allowing efficient processing of diverse SKUs from various merchants. The integration of a "one order at a time" strategy enhanced operator convenience. Within the automated 8000 sqm area, AMRs operated across 15 picking workstations and 7 putaway stations, achieving a remarkable picking efficiency of 230 pcs/h/station. Storage capacity surged by 200%, accommodating an inventory of 200,000 items. 4PX's adoption of Quicktron's solution stands as a testament to its commitment to technological excellence, transforming logistics operations, and setting new benchmarks for efficiency and optimization.
